Mesotherapy is a technique that uses a series of small injections of vitamins, enzymes, hormones, and plant extracts into the ‘mesoderm’- the middle layer of the skin – to accomplish effectual results.
Developed by Michel Pistor, a doctor in France, in 1952, mesotherapy was originally used to relieve pain. Over the years since, it has gained popularity in the United States and other parts of the world and its applicability and efficacy have expanded.
Today, mesotherapy can be used to treat alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss. This is a relatively new area of mesotherapy where microinjections into the scalp improve hair production from the follicle. By stimulating blood flow and providing essential nutrients, the hair follicle is encouraged to produce stronger, denser hair growth.
Multiple sessions may be required to get to the hair growth stage, as this is normally an ongoing treatment. Your consultation with our Mesotherapy Expert will reveal the approximate number of sessions and the follow-up maintenance appointments required. Results will not be immediate. However, this technique is non-invasive and requires no down time which makes it a desirable solution.
